Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Eddy Gutierrez (G30_Eddyy) ("we", "us", or "our"), the developer of the MotorClub mobile app (the "App"), collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the App. By creating an account or using MotorClub, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Account information: your email address and a password. Passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see your plain-text password.
• Profile information: display name, username, and optional details such as a bio, profile photo, car club/crew name, general location (free text you type), hobbies, and links to your social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube).
• Content you create: events you post (title, description, date/time, a location you set by dropping a pin on a map, and any flyer image you upload), event RSVPs, chat messages, your garage (vehicles and modifications), and the accounts you follow.
• Safety reports: if you report a user or event, the reason, any details you add, and which item you reported.
• Photos: images you choose to upload from your device's photo library. We only access the specific images you select — not your whole library.

Information collected automatically:

• Device language to display the App in English or Spanish. This stays on your device.
• Technical and log data such as IP address and timestamps, recorded by our backend provider to operate and secure the service.

What we do not collect: MotorClub does not include advertising networks or third-party analytics/tracking SDKs, and does not track your real-time or background location. Event locations are map pins you choose to set — not readings from your device's GPS.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Create and manage your account and profile;
• Show the feed, events, live map, community chat, garages, and follower/following features;
• Let you post events, RSVP, send messages, and get directions;
• Keep the community safe — review reports, remove prohibited content, and enforce our Terms (including bans for illegal street racing or takeovers);
• Respond to your support requests; and
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. How Your Information Is Shared

• With other users (public content): your profile (name, photo, bio, club, social links, garage) and the content you post (events, chat messages, RSVPs) are visible to other users. Please only share what you're comfortable being public.
• With service providers: Supabase (hosts our database, authentication, and image storage); Apple Maps / Google Maps (when a map is shown or you get directions, subject to their own privacy policies); and the Apple App Store / Google Play for distribution.
• For legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
• We do not sell your personal information.

4. Public Content & Community Safety

Content you post is public to other users. We provide tools to keep the community safe: report users or events, block users so you no longer see their content, and delete your account at any time (see Section 6). We may remove content and suspend or permanently ban accounts that break our rules.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data as described below. We may retain limited information where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your Rights & Choices

• Access & update: view and edit your profile and content directly in the App.
• Delete your account: in the App, go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your profile, events, garage, messages, follows, RSVPs, reports, and uploaded photos, along with your login. This cannot be undone.
• Block & report: available on any user's profile and on event posts.

California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

EEA / UK (GDPR): our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests (keeping the service safe and functional), and your consent where applicable. You may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or object to processing. Your data is processed in the United States (see Section 8).

7. Security

We protect your information using industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), row-level security rules on our database so users can only access data they're permitted to, and hashed password storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Users & Data Transfers

MotorClub is operated from the United States, and our backend data is stored and processed in the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

9. Children's Privacy

MotorClub is not directed to children under 17, and you must be at least 17 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at eddygut08@gmail.com and we will delete it.

10. Third-Party Links & Services

The App may link to third-party services (for example, the Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube profiles users add, or the Apple/Google Maps app for directions). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services. Review their privacy policies separately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide notice in the App. Your continued use of MotorClub after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
